Dave, Mandy, Spencer, Nicolas, Camden and Cambria Osborn are a missionary family living in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Their home (USA) church is Green Valley Church. About 6 years ago they discovered the little beach town of El Zonte, El Salvador while on a trip outside of Guatemala to renew their visas. A hidden gem for surfers and beach lovers from all over the world, they fell in love with it and it became a favorite family getaway. Through spending time there and developing friendships with many locals, they felt God calling them to participate with Him in sharing God's love with the people of El Zonte.
Fast forward...they have had teams of Americans ("gringos") come down to run a week-long Vacation Bible School for the last four years. The teams have helped support a variety of projects to help the local community: providing materials for a new freshwater cistern, giving school supplies and scholarships for children to attend school, buying a motorcycle for Pastor Hercules to visit the numerous congregations he oversees, donating funds to build a computer lab at the school and the list could go on. Through their investments in the community and in the people, the Osborns are considered locals now. They (and by association, us) are part of the fabric of the community which opens doors for God to work in new ways.
